SEMI-PERMANENT FRECKLES

FAQ
WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING THE TREATMENT?
A detailed consultation where the patient’s expectations and desires are discussed, and a removable outline is drawn before the procedure. The procedure is usually performed on the same day as the consultation, provided there are no contraindications.
We dedicate sufficient time to complete the documentation, take before-and-after photos, apply topical anesthetic, perform the procedure, and review aftercare instructions.
HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY TREATMENT?
Do not consume alcohol, caffeine, or blood thinners (aspirin, ibuprofen, other NSAIDs, fish oil, niacin, vitamin E) 48 hours before the procedure to avoid excessive bleeding, which directly affects color retention.
Avoid sun exposure or tanning beds for 1 week before and 1 week after the procedure.
Some cosmetic procedures that must be performed before freckle tattooing:
• Facial fillers (4 weeks in advance)
• Chemical peels, laser treatments, microdermabrasion (4 weeks in advance)
• Discontinue use of retinol and AHA products in the area (1 week in advance)
WHAT SHOULD I DO AFTER THE PROCEDURE?
Aftercare consists of not touching the area (scratching, pulling, or picking at it) while it heals. Scabbing or peeling may occur during the first 7–10 days.
It is important to avoid excessive exposure to sun, water, perspiration (from exercise), skincare products, makeup, and exfoliation of the area to avoid affecting pigmentation and healing.
Detailed aftercare instructions will be provided on the day of your appointment.
IS IT PAINFUL?
Discomfort levels vary depending on each person’s pain threshold and sensitivity.
To ensure maximum comfort during the procedure, a topical anesthetic (4% lidocaine) will be applied before and during the treatment.
Please note that if you are menstruating, you may be more sensitive to pain. Sleep, stress, and caffeine can also affect pain sensitivity.
HOW LONG DO THE RESULTS LAST?
Semi-permanent pigments will fade naturally over time.
Many factors affect the lifespan of the implanted pigment, including sun exposure, skin type, overall health, and immediate and long-term aftercare.
Results typically last 1–2 years or more before a touch-up is needed to refresh the color and design.
People who smoke frequently or have iron-deficiency anemia may find that the results fade sooner.
Results vary from client to client.
WHAT WILL THE FINAL RESULT LOOK LIKE?
Bold or soft, depending on the look you want to achieve.
The pigment will be darker, larger, and sharper immediately after the procedure, but it will soften and shrink slightly during the healing weeks.
